Warm The Children
The Greenfield Recorder's annual Warm The Children drive would not have become what it is without the generous support of our readers. This campaign remains a welcome relief to local parents and children struggling to keep warm in a cold New England Winter.
The Greenfield Recorder continues to provide gifts to more than 625 children from Franklin County and the North Quabbin region every year.
Recipients are suggested by various local social service agencies and community organizations. Community Action staff coordinate the referral process to prevent duplication of applications and assure meeting the needs of qualifed recipients. This year has its own set of challenges. In the midst of continuing economic pressures, the need is greater than ever. The Greenfield recorder has partnered with Target store in Hadley. Vouchers will be issued for each qualifying child (ages 1-12) and can be used at the Target Store to purchase children's clothing and gifts. Every donation helps!
